Come on, this begins!
We started the adventure, what a desire we had. We have been working on what you see since August, and a few weeks ago we launched our first product on the market: the world's thinnest and most minimalist wallet . This post is a declaration of intent and a firm commitment to being transparent . We are going to tell you all our advances, our mistakes and our successes. We are going to learn how to manufacture a product, create a brand and lead (or not?) an ecommerce to success by investing just over €3,000. We wholeheartedly believe that a simpler and more minimalist world is possible, we want to show that to all of you who end up on this blog.
Week by week we will be answering questions and today we start strong, where does the idea come from? How it all started?
Unbeknownst to us, it all started when the American company NOMATIC launched its first product on the market 3 years ago. A minimalist bag in 4 colors that was a success on Kickstarter, selling almost 100,000 bags in a few weeks. I was one of the people who bought the “mint” color bag, and I have been using it every day since 2015 until less than 3 months ago. For more than two years, more than 50 people have asked me about the bag, the format and the company that made it. Kudos to NOMATIC ! I admire your product and your company. They are launching very interesting products and have created a very powerful brand.
I have always wanted to improve some details of that bag that I bought in 2015, to have more colors available and, above all, to receive the product in no more than 3 weeks since I bought it (I bought it quite a few times as gifts). And what changes have we made to the portfolio?
- We have improved the quality of the elastics, the strap and the rivets inside. Our minimalist wallet can be washed, we want it to last for many years.
- We love animals and we will not wear their fur. We changed the leather for imitation leather , even more resistant.
- We launched more colors on the market.
- Shipping time: Since you buy the wallet until you have it in your hand, it will take less than a week (except for blundering errors as we will explain in the next post, we promise that it will not happen again...)
Curiously, all this arose after an excursion to the mountains of Madrid, with some friends as witnesses. On September 7 at 11:59 a.m. we received our first sale . To date we have sold 1,122 bags! We are excited, we want and we believe we are facing a brutal opportunity to do things with love and work. We have 4 maxims: quality, transparency, globality and simplicity.
We live in a world where money lives in credit cards and where we don't like to carry giant wallets in our pocket or purse. We live in an increasingly complex world in which minimalism is conspicuous by its absence. Today we launch a portfolio to the market, and what's next?
