How often should you change your underwear?
There is no exact answer. We'll tell you what to look for.
This is one of those questions that seems like it should have a simple answer.
Every 6 months?
Once a year?
Every two years?
The reality is that there is no exact moment when you have to throw away your underwear and buy more.
It depends on how much you wear it, how you wash it, and, above all, the condition it is in.
WHEN IS IT TIME TO CHANGE IT?
There are several quite clear signs.
If the fabric has lost its shape, the elastic no longer fits like it used to, holes or worn areas appear, or the garment has lost much of its softness and comfort, it has probably reached that point.
It may also happen that it looks fine, but it is no longer comfortable.
And in the end, for us, that is one of the most important indicators.
Underwear should be one of those garments that you put on and forget you're wearing.

WASHING MATTERS TOO
A good garment can last a long time, but it also depends on how you take care of it.
Washing it at temperatures that are too high, using very aggressive wash cycles, or overusing the tumble dryer can accelerate the wear and tear of the fabrics and elastic.
That is why we recommend washing our underwear at 30 ºC.
Lower temperature, less wear.
And if the garment is still in good condition, there is no reason to change it simply because a certain amount of time has passed.
AND HOW LONG SHOULD A GOOD PAIR OF BOXERS LAST?
This is where we think the truly interesting question lies.
We don't believe underwear has to last forever.
But it also doesn't make sense to buy boxers that, after a few months, have lost their shape, are uncomfortable, or have completely worn-out fabric.
Our boxers and briefs are made in Porto with 100% OCS 100 certified organic cotton.
We make them with exactly that in mind: so you can wear them for a long time and they remain comfortable after many washes.
And our customers tell us so.
Our boxers have already accumulated more than 345 positive reviews.
LESS, BUT BETTER
Ultimately, changing your underwear shouldn't depend on what a calendar says.
It should depend on the state of the garment.
If it's still comfortable, keeps its shape, and is in good condition, it still has life left in it.
And if it has reached its end, then yes.
It's time to change it.
Because for us, sustainability also consists of something quite simple:
making garments that you don't have to constantly replace.
